Barbara’s Aunt Marie taught her to draw as a child. She has returned to sketching and designing throughout her musical career. During the past twenty years she has made her artwork a priority by studying with Seacoast instructors, moving her studio to the Salmon Falls Mills in Rollinsford, NH, and displaying her work in New England galleries and art shows.  Her watercolor paintings are in private collections throughout New England and beyond. Her watercolors range from soft blue-grey winter landscapes reminiscent of her childhood in Aroostook County, Maine, to abstract pieces reflecting her love of nature and science, to semi-abstract paintings of musicians in primary colors, and to whimsical illustrations of her favorite animal, the pig.
